What truly needs to be prioritized?

Published over 1 year ago • 1 min read

Reader,

If we're close, you might know that I experienced a health scare recently that lasted a few weeks. It turned out to be a false alarm, thank God, but it caused me to ask myself, "What truly needs to be prioritized?"

Shortly before that health scare, I had been working on more work-life balance to spend more time with my family and have more time for self care. I had been exploring what it meant to make my diet even more healthy. The health scare made me accelerate those goals, making it apparent that I needed to prioritize these things even more. The health scare caused me to make these shifts even more quickly that I originally planned, but I'm so glad I did! I'm already seeing and feeling the results of that shift!

Is there something you need to prioritize personally or professionally that you've been slowly working on but need to truly address sooner than later?

As a career professional, maybe that looks like updating or enhancing your resumé or LinkedIn. Or as a businessperson, maybe it's tackling a strategy that would really make a huge shift in your business. Or maybe you're like me and you have been trying to increase your level of exercise and healthier eating? Or maybe it's something else?

Whatever it is, it could be of great value to you and maybe even of value to those around you for you to take action sooner than later to move towards that shift.

I believe in you, and I'm excited for what the future continues to hold for you!

Warm regards,

-Daphne Valcin

Hi Reader, How do we connect when we feel someone's perspective or approach is completely different than ours? Maybe a colleague is expounding too much on a point. Maybe a customer seems to be asking for way too much. Maybe a manager is feeling like 10 steps are needed to roll out a new initiative when you're sure it can be done in 3 steps. Daily or weekly, we run into differences in perspective or approach and in each case, we have the opportunity to have an interaction result in connection...

Hi Reader, As we are approaching the end of the first quarter of 2024, this is a great time for us to reflect on where we are and where we would like to be in the areas that mean the most to us professionally. I have a life hack that I have used for years to periodically assess where I am and where I want to be personally and professionally, even during my busiest seasons in life. And I wanted to share it with you just in case you might find it useful. If you prefer to watch a video of how...

Hi Reader, As we head into the March 2023 and wrap up the first quarter of this year, I am hoping that you are encouraged by all of the things that you can be grateful for thus far this year. For those of you who have a vision you're striving for personally or professionally, I know goals can be overwhelming at times, so this is a gentle reminder that if you are feeling overwhelmed by so many things that you feel you should be doing to move forward personally or professionally, you don't have...
